Words were cheapened by abuse and misuse, men since the fall have
shaped their destiny through their confession. Those who walked in
negative confession fell into diverse lust and failures while those
with good confession walked into victory and wrought great miracles
signs and wonders.

Let us walk carefully and let our lips speak the
holiness of God without
becoming gossip, slanderers and accusers for those who abide in life,
abide in Christ and live to the fullness of life. Therefore those who
want to have abundant life should learn to keep their tongue steadfast
and pure, because the untamed tongue is a “world of iniquity and fire”
a sure way to trouble. James advises us to not be foolish and get
wisdom from above so that we will walk in righteousness and purity of
words (see James 3:13). The following words of wisdom should guide our
conduct always,
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21)
“For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.” (Matthew 12:37)
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35)
“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of
these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Therefore do not be partakers with them; for you were formerly
darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light
(for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness
and truth), trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.” (Ephesians
5:6-10)
“Retain the standard of sound words which you have heard from me…” (2 Timothy 1:13)
“Therefore be imitators of God…there must be no filthiness
and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather
giving of thanks.” (Ephesians 5:1, 4)
