The Appointed Time Part 1

Posted by Edison Macusi on Monday, January 30, 2012, In : Word for the week
“To everything and to everyone there is a time appointed.” I think that statement had really shocked me—truly if we know the appointed time, then we won’t fret but we will prepare and do well in advance. What would happen if everyone knows the time that their loved ones would depart? Then they would all do what they can to be around them before that time comes. Likewise, what would happen if we know what time we are supposed to receive and get an employment?

Then we won’t be losing...

Struck by the Rock

Posted by Edison Macusi on Sunday, January 15, 2012, In : Special bulletin
Recently an Italian cruise ship, Costa Concordia ran aground near the rocky island of Giglio off the coast of Tuscany, sending water pouring through a 160-foot gash in the hull.  Most of the passengers complained that the crew failed to give evacuation notice until the ship was already dangerously tilted so that even lowering the lifeboats were dangerous. Most of the passengers aboard were quickly evacuated but some 40 went missing. Sometimes an event like this can struck a similar chord that...

The King is coming!

Posted by Edison Macusi on Thursday, December 15, 2011, In : Word for the week
There has never been a more opportune time, more signs in the heavens and on earth happening than this time. When an earthly king comes to visit a country, they always send their advance party to prepare the way of the king for his coming. They make his passage safe, they level the crooked paths and they inform the people of how important this dignitary is by rolling a red carpet and putting signs of his coming. The truth is, the Lord Jesus, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords is coming a...

When the wicked rule

Posted by Edison Macusi on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, In : Word for the week
“Kings detest wrongdoing, for a throne is established through righteousness.” Proverbs 16:12

"Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne." Psalm 97:2 (NKJV)

There is a reason why the Bible instructs us that justice and righteousness is the foundation of any throne. Throne today represents those who rule, those given dominion in every sphere of the society. These could be barangay captains, mayors, governors, congressmen, senators, presidents, justices, chiefs, and bosses in ...

Trusting the Lord with all our heart

Posted by Edison Macusi on Monday, November 28, 2011, In : Word for the week
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.
It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones. Proverbs 3:5-8 (NKJV)

Trust is earned. People can love each other, they can give gifts, they can hug and even kiss but the lack of trust could easily distort this love. To be a people of faith, we need to trust God. W...

Is there not a cause?

Posted by Edison Macusi on Friday, November 18, 2011, In : Special bulletin
There is a current buzz about how former president Arroyo has taken a dramatic props to elicit mercy from the poor and the generally unsuspecting population of the country. Props, sickness and disease cannot be an excuse to face accountability of the electoral fraud, the fertilizer scam and the ZTE scam. Corruption cannot be excused after someone has done it already. This is like punching your neighbour in the stomach and then telling him that it was just a joke. Well, whether it was a joke, ...

The Discipline of the Father

Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.  Job 5:17

Blessed is the man you discipline, O Lord, the man you teach from your law; you grant him relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked. Psalm 94:12-13

Strengthen yourself in the Lord

Posted by Edison Macusi on Saturday, September 24, 2011, In : Word for the week
How can we strengthen ourselves? How do we react to situations and issues that arise in our office, ministry, and children? Do we rant and rave after losing our keys, or our car jammed into traffic, or after we are being billed for our electricity and water consumptions? How do we keep our cool and not burst into anger? Many Christians may not rant and rave because they understood and knew that it is a sin to have an outburst of anger but even then, in silence, their thoughts traverse ...

Seize the day!

Posted by Edison Macusi on Monday, September 12, 2011, In : Word for the week

There are times and seasons in our lives. In fact, we have to know them and learn to cooperate with the times and seasons that occurs in our lives because we don’t control time or season. There are many people who pretend to know the times and seasons of God or even the climate of our earth. The sons of Issachar are known to have discerned the times and seasons of God and understood what Israel was supposed to do (1 Chronicles 12:32). Why is it very important to know the times and seasons o...

“No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” Luke 16:13

Choosing the mark of God

Posted by Edison Macusi on Thursday, June 30, 2011, In : Word for the week
Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

In the last two chapters we dealt with the two beasts that will deceive the whole world (those in rebellion against God). The antic...

I was appalled by what I heard and seen in the Inquirer reports concerning the alleged attack on the hard-hitting radio man this week in his broadcasting lair in Bulanao. If true, this is a sign that the Governor could not take the punches on the air. Criticism of officials by media men and his own people should not be seen as curtailing the works of the governor but rather should be seen in the light of what more can be done. There is a prevailing notion that the anti-Christ will simply come in power and then surprise the world, declaring, “I am the anti-Christ.” At least that was my notion as a young believer, but over the years, I have come to believe that the anti-Christ will not be as naïve as we think or consider him to be. Far from this, like his previous likeness, Hitler, he will come as an “angel of light” that will deceive many and devastate their livelihoods and trusts.

We ask Him to invoke blessings on our wish lists but often times we miss the point of prayer, which is asking God that He may speak to us and guide us on the present and on our future endeavours. I have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was with Me. Isaiah 63:3

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

The old rugged cross was a symbol of the Roman empire’s prestige, power and position. It is shameful to be crucified as the Scriptures say that cursed be the man that hangs on a tree.
